Velocity (Human Elements / Innerground)
2003年2月、DJ、Designer、VJから構成される 7NiNE Productions の設立に参加。同年、7NiNE Productionsがオーガナイズするマンスリーのドラムンベースパーティー ZERO の始動に伴い、渋谷 Womb でレジデント DJ を務める。
2005年にはVJソフト Motion Dive Tokyo の Sound Effect を手がけるなどドラムンベースにとらわれない活動を展開。
2008年 Pioneer 主催の C.N.S (CDJ New Style) Battle の第一回大会で CDJ、Mixer、Effect を巧みに操り、そのスキルを余すこと無く発揮した結果、準優勝の栄冠に輝き日本トップクラスの実力を証明した。
オリジナルチューンが Marky, Bailey, Bryan Gee, Fabio, Random Movement, Makoto, Lenzman, A-Sides さらには BBC Radio 1 で Friction によりプレイされるなど、世界中の DJ にサポートされている中、HE:Digital より Velocity & Key MC – Ladder がリリースされ、収録されたアルバム “Something We Can Do” が iTunes Store Japan のElectronic チャート1位。Beatport シングルチャートで20位台を記録し、同年2011冬には同レーベルより自身初の4曲入りの Concentration EP をリリースし話題を呼ぶ。
2014年には本場イギリスのドラムンベースパーティー innerSoul @ Plan B でプレイし UK デビューを果たした。
2015年には Malaky & Velocity – Midnight で自身初のバイナルリリース。翌2016年には Velocity – Jelly Break が Juno Records のバイナルセールスチャートで1位を獲得。さらに同年、Makoto によるレーベル Human Elements より “Night Owl EP” をリリースし世界中のアーティストによりサポートされている。
現在 DJ Marky によるレーベル Innerground を始め Phuzion Records や Soul Deep Records, Advection Music, Vandal Records など、日本、イギリス、アメリカ、ギリシャ、ドイツ等、世界各国からのリリースを控えている。
Velocity is Drum&Bass DJ & Producer based in Tokyo, Japan. In Feb 2003, Velocity established “7NiNE Productions” (composition of DJ, Designer and VJ) to showcase his skills as a DJ.
In the same year 7NiNE Production started the Neo Tokyo Drum & Bass party “ZERO”, and he played as a resident DJ at WOMB (Tokyo). In 2005, Velocity took part and created sound effects for the legendary VJ software “Motion Dive Tokyo”.
In 2008, he entered and won the 2nd place on C.N.S(CDJ New Style) battle competition organized by Pioneer, where he laid-down and wowed the judges with his technical mixing styles and proved his skills to the world.
and his tunes have been gaining major support from big names such as; Commix, Marky, Bailey, Bryan G, Random Movement, Makoto, A-Sides.
and BBC 1 DJ Friction has also recently been playing his tunes. Velocity has released his tune “Velocity & Key MC – Ladder” on compilation album “Something We Can Do” from HE:Digital, which got to No.1 in the iTunes Store Electronic genre chart in Japan and managed to enter the top 20 in the Beatport single chart.
In 2011, “Light In Nightmare” will be released on UK Drum & Bass label W10 Records, and also Velocity’s first EP (Concentration EP) is forthcoming on HE:Digital due for release 2011.
in 2014 finally Velocity’s UK debut at innerSoul @ Plan B.
last years see the release of his vinyl debut “Malaky & Velocity – Midnight” on Fizzybeats.
in 2016 Velocity – Jelly Break reached #1 on Juno Records Vinyl Sales chart. so his new release is “Night Owl EP” from Makoto’s imprint “Human Elements”.
and finally his tune signed with DJ Marky’s “Innerground”. He going on to release on a wide selection of labels such as Phuzion Records, Advection Music, Vandal Records, Sheer Velocity & many more.
